Facet Blocker Adjustment Procedure

  • A10048 (COE Polygon) top Facet Blocker for P200C, P200MA and 200Tx scan heads
  • The A10048 Assembly has two blockers fitted – the top Facet Blocker and the bottom z-blocker as shown in the picture below.

Adjustment of the bottom z-blocker will adversely impact the scan head image quality and may not be reset without further instruction and test equipment. The top Facet Blocker prevents scattered illumination propagating back to the Detectors from the Facet neighboring the active Facet. If the blocker is absent or set too high on the A10048 Assembly, not all of the scattered light will be blocked. This can result in a horizontal band appearing in the bottom third of the image, as shown in the following
images:

If the blocker is set too low this will impinge on the retinal return from the active Polygon Facet. This will cause a loss of light at the Detector and potential deterioration in image quality.
